Pay is still an issue - but very few jobs have employees who say, "I'm paid fairly" these days. Advancement is rare and it appears as though new hires are preferred to advancing long-term employees who are eager to learn or eager to do more for their company. You might be in the same position for years before an opportunity opens up, and even then it might be in a completely different area of the company. CONS: CEOs come and go, each offering up a promise that is only partially fulfilled.
